How Rates Change and Move
Each rate follows a policy anchor; changes are announced here and in the app every time.
Deposit rates track the Bank of Canada overnight rate and peer credit union pricing. Mortgage and loan rates track the prime rate and bond yields. All boards are shared with members at least weekly.
Details on the mortgage gap vs banks are on the comparison page.
Key facts at a glance
Four numbers decide most of this decision, and one caveat should always be kept in view.
- Deposit rates: Up to 2.6%.
- Mortgage 5yr: 4.50%.
- Updates: Weekly/Monthly.
This rate board does NOT include business deposits, which use a separate treasury rate sheet. We published rates quarterly at first; monthly cadence now matches the refinance season and cut the 'wrong rate' complaints to zero.
The official methodology is detailed in the sascu overview.

Consumer protection and credit-union rules are published by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
If two pages decide this decision, the second one is the fee schedule: three lines determine 90% of the annual difference, and the routing number and support number belong in the same notebook on the same day.
Every rate and fee is published. The finance committee stopped asking questions.
Our TFSA moved to sascu with zero paperwork drama in five days.
