sascu Mobile Deposit

SASCU mobile deposit: deposit cheques with your phone camera in 90 seconds, with limits and hold periods explained.

The Banking Essentials: Mobile Deposit

How It Works

Photograph the front, then the back of the cheque from the app's Deposit tab, and confirm the amount.

Open the this credit union app, tap Deposit, and photograph the front and back of the cheque. The app extracts the amount; confirm and submit. Most complete in 90 seconds.

Sign the back of the cheque and write 'For deposit only - sascu' before photographing. Keep the physical cheque for 14 days after clearance, per Canadian banking records.

Limits and Hold Times

The deposit amount plus hold policy: up to $5,000 same-day; larger amounts within 2 business days.

RDC limits at sascu: $5,000 per day, $15,000 per week, with same-day availability up to $5,000. Amounts above the same-day mark hold-in two days, and unusual items can be verified with a call.

Physical deposits limits and guidance are on the chequing page; credit card payments are separate.

Key facts at a glance

Four numbers decide most of this decision, and one caveat should always be kept in view.

Mobile deposit does NOT accept third-party cheques or drafts payable to businesses. Our first RDC limit was uneven across branches; unifying the limit at $5,000 removed 30% of support escalations.

The official methodology is detailed in the sascu overview.

Deposit analytics show a 90-second median transaction and 96% of images accepted on the first capture.

Consumer protection and credit-union rules are published by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.

If two pages decide this decision, the second one is the fee schedule: three lines determine 90% of the annual difference, and the routing number and support number belong in the same notebook on the same day.

Exchange-rate windows and rate boards shift weekly; the numbers on this page are re-checked at the start of every month, which is what makes the checklist safe to print for the next quarter.

The threshold exists on purpose: it separates routine banking from the moment a number on your statement stops matching this page, which is the moment to call the desk with this page open.

Our TFSA moved to sascu with zero paperwork drama in five days.
